Steam 1.0 quest check in progress
Core quest routes are shown with their current coverage status while they are re-checked against the full release.
Welcome to Elderfield Quests & Quest Guides
Every quest here answers the same six questions: where it starts, why it may not have appeared, what it needs, why it might be stuck, what finishing it unlocks, and whether it is worth doing now. Step-by-step objectives live on the individual quest pages.

What it does
Availability
Search by quest name, giver, location, objective, item or reward — or pick a filter. You can look up quest-to-item relationships too, for example “Copper Ore”, “Ghost Flounder” or “bring pizza”.
Which Quest Should I Do Next?
Pick the outcome you want. Searching by goal is faster than reading a list in release order, because the right next quest depends on what you are trying to unlock.
Quests That Unlock Progression
These are the quests that change what you can do. Everything else in this hub is optional or can wait.
Quest Chains
An arrow here means the game actually requires the earlier quest — it is taken from the prerequisite recorded on the later quest, not from the order they appear in a list.
Farming chain
- The Farmer's PathFarmhouse · FarmStarts the farming chain. No prerequisite quest.

Available Side Quests
These are part of the normal current route. They do not need later-area progression to start or finish, and none of them are required for farming, the Workshop or fishing.

Quests That Need Another Quest First
These will not appear when you first look for the giver. They open only after the quest listed under Requires.
Unlock required
Artwork for Abigail
This quest does not appear from the start of the game.
A Quest Isn’t Showing Up
The quest does not exist in your save yet. Pick the one you are waiting on — each answer names the condition, not just “keep playing”.
›Hans has no new farming quest
Finish The Farmer’s Path first. After that, the next farming step has its own start point, so waiting beside Hans will not make it appear — work on another system, then check back.
Open guide →›The Skull Chalice hasn’t appeared
It comes after The Farmer’s Path, but it does not unlock at the same moment you hand in the Wheat. It is not a quest you can pick up on day one.
Open guide →›A Fast Food Fiend is still locked
That one has two gates: The Skull Chalice has to be finished, and you have to be at Day 21 or later. Finishing the earlier quest alone will not open it.
Open guide →›The Ranch is locked
Check your current day before assuming you missed a quest. The Ranch opens on Day 5 rather than as the reward for a long early chain.
›Artwork for Abigail hasn’t appeared
It is a chained quest, not an early one. Make progress on Skelekid’s Tasks first, then check back with Abigail.
Open guide →You Started It, But It Won’t Progress
You already have the quest. These are the mid-quest dead ends, which are a different problem from a quest that never appeared.
›Helping Molly isn’t progressing
The hand-in is Copper Ore. Check that you are actually carrying Copper Ore rather than a Copper Bar — the two look similar and only the ore counts.
Open guide →›Hidden Shrines didn’t complete
If you have already found both Catacombs God Shrines, talk to Jenna again. Re-speaking to her is what advances the quest when the second shrine does not register.
Open guide →›I can start a Catacombs quest but can’t finish it
Some Catacombs quests begin before their materials are reachable in the current route. Check whether the quest needs later progression before you grind anything for it.
›A quest sends me somewhere I can’t reach
If you can accept the quest but the next destination is somewhere you cannot enter yet, the quest is gated by later progression rather than broken. Stop there instead of assuming you missed something.
You Can Start These, But Not Finish Them Yet
You can accept these now, but the materials or destination they ask for sit outside normal progression. Do not grind them yet — this status comes from the item sources, not from a guess about difficulty.
Can startStart now, finish later
Farming Supplies
Two required mushroom sources sit outside normal current progression.
Can startStart now, finish later
Forbidden Snack
Shyfish depends on a fishing upgrade route that continues through later content.

The Strange Orb
That route is outside normal current progression.
OptionalSpoilers
Optional Progression: Catacombs
The Catacombs route starts with By the Gods and is not required for farming, the Workshop, fishing or the Ranch. Full area detail lives on the Catacombs pages.

False Idols
Bone Ingots and Verdite Bars make this an unusually heavy grind. It is not needed for normal progression.
Quests That Require Items
What to bring, and where to get it. Quest → item → source is the fastest way to unblock a quest you cannot finish.
Useful Quest Rewards
Only rewards that change what you can do are listed — tools, keys and hammers. Coin drops are not included.

Quests We Haven’t Confirmed Yet
These have a known objective but no confirmed normal availability in our own data. They stay searchable so you can look them up, and are moved into the main lists once they are verified. 18 further quests tied to Old Woods, Greystone Estates and Town 2 are also still being checked.

Babysitting...?
No supporting acquisition data was found for this quest yet, so its availability is unconfirmed.

Build-A-Wife
No supporting acquisition data was found for this quest yet, so its availability is unconfirmed.

Fishing in the Mall...?
The hand-in item checks out — the Mall F1 Stalktopus source and the Office Worker hand-in both exist in the data. The quest name itself is still unconfirmed.
Unverified
An Eldritch Prank
The objective came from an external list rather than our own data, so it is unconfirmed.
Unverified
Lost Gameboy
The item exists (Tanner’s Gameboy, found in the Apartment) but no quest data matches this name, so it is unconfirmed.
