STEAM FULL RELEASE · TROUBLESHOOTING

What’s Not Working in Welcome to Elderfield?

Choose what you’re seeing in the Steam Full Release and we’ll point you to the right checks, guide or tool.

What’s the problem?

Pick what you are seeing, then start with the checks that belong to it. Each card opens the page that owns the answer rather than guessing at one here.

TASKS

PROGRESSION & AREAS

  • PROGRESSION HELP

I don’t know what to do next

Nothing looks wrong, and there is nothing obvious to do. That is a missing step rather than a blocker, so it has a different answer from everything else on this page.

    We can check

    • The next step on the main route
    • What is optional and can wait
    • Whether a step is gating you without saying so

    Open the Progression Assistant

See the main route in order

  • AREA HELP

    I can’t reach an area

An area is closed, an entrance is not where you expected, or something you were told to bring turned out not to be enough on its own.

    We can check

    • Whether the area needs a key item
    • What else the release records as required
    • Which task or progression step that depends on

    Check Requirements

    Browse area guides

    Which area?

These are the areas where the release records a key item or an extra condition. Each one names what it records, in its own words.

See every area and its recorded access

ITEMS & SHOPS

  • ITEM HELP

I don’t know where to get an item

You need something and nothing has told you where it comes from. That is an acquisition search, and it is a different page from a blocker.

    We can check

    • Every source the release records for it
    • Whether a shop, a task, a recipe or a catch route provides it
    • Whether it has more than one recorded source

    Open the Item Finder

    Browse the item database

  • BLOCKER HELP

I know the source, but I can’t get it

A guide named where it comes from and it still is not in your hands. That is a requirement question rather than a search, which is why it does not open the Item Finder.

    We can check

    • Whether the task that provides it has started
    • Whether the shop that sells it is open to you
    • Whether a prerequisite item or area is still missing

    Check What’s Missing

If the blocker is a progression step, find it

  • SHOP HELP

A shop doesn’t have the item

A merchant a guide named does not stock what you are looking for. Start from the item rather than the counter: a shop page only ever lists what the release records for that merchant.

    We can check

    • Which merchants are recorded selling this item
    • Whether the shop is open to you yet
    • Whether the stock is conditional rather than always on the shelf

    Find Which Shop Sells It

Shop stock answers · See the item’s recorded sources

Some stock is not unconditional: the release records items that reach a shop through an in-game event rather than sitting on the shelf from the start. Check the recorded conditions before treating a missing shelf item as something that went wrong.

  • RECOVERY

I lost or sold something important

Check whether another copy is confirmed, whether the item has an important use, and what recovery routes are known.

    We can check

    • Whether another copy is recorded
    • Whether the item has an important use
    • What recovery routes are known

Open Lost & Sold Item Recovery

CHARACTERS

CRAFTING

  • CRAFTING HELP

    I can’t craft something

A recipe is missing from a station, or it is there and will not go through. More than one thing can stop a craft, and the release records which one applies to a recipe.

    We can check

    • Whether the recipe is unlocked yet
    • Whether the station is available to you
    • Whether the ingredients are the problem

    Check Requirements

    Search the recipe database

FISHING

  • FISHING HELP

    I can’t catch a fish

Something is being caught where you are, just not the fish you are after. A catch is a set of conditions that match, and each fish page lists the ones it is recorded against.

    We can check

    • The area the fish is recorded in
    • The season and time it is recorded for
    • The bait its catch route uses
    • Whether you can reach that place

    Check My Fishing Conditions

Browse fish and their catch conditions

Before Treating This as a Bug

Almost everything on this page has something the release records behind it: a task that has to be finished first, an item you do not have yet, an area with a condition you have not met, or stock that is conditional rather than always on the shelf. Start with the checks each card names. Where the release records nothing behind a problem, this page says so instead of calling it a bug — the honest words there are requirement, condition and blocker.

Common Things Players Get Stuck On

A short editorial list rather than a ranking: these are the situations whose recorded requirements are complete enough to answer, so each one opens the page that owns it.

Not Sure What Your Goal Is?

If nothing looks wrong and you simply do not know what to do next, you are missing a step rather than a fix. The Progression Assistant starts from where you are and answers with the next step that matters.
