The Kinds of Source

Every source on an item’s answer is one of these. The wording is what the release records, not a guess about the kind of object it is.

  • Quest Reward

Awarded for completing something. The card names it and links to its guide.

  • Shop

Stocked by a merchant. Whether it is on the shelf is that shop’s own record, not this page’s.

  • Crafting

Made at a station from ingredients. The recipe page has the ingredients and the bench.

  • Fishing

Caught, under the conditions the card prints — the area, the season, the time, the bait.

  • Mining

Mined from a vein the release files in its own mining table.

  • Farming

    Grown and harvested.

  • Ranch & Production

Produced on your land, by an animal or by a machine you place.

  • Gem

Rolled from the equipment gem reward system, so the card can only say what it rolls from.

  • Loot & Containers

Found in containers, in piles, or through a loot roll: recorded, and not always on the first look.

  • Enemy Drop

Dropped or awarded by a fight. A card only says a drop is certain when the release records one.

  • Mail

    Delivered by letter.

  • Foraging

Gathered from the world, usually in the area the card names.

  • Other

Recorded by the release, which does not say how it is obtained.

Keep Looking

The tool answers where an item comes from. The databases answer what it is.

Every route on this page is an acquisition edge recorded by the Steam Full Release. Nothing is inferred from a name, a category or a description, and a relation is not a route: a shop that stocks an item, a task that requires one and an area that contains one are only ever shown as what they are.

Steam Full Release data only. Where the exact Steam source is not confirmed, this page says so rather than filling the gap in from another version.
